In July 2010, our Association established a notified Juvenile Home (Boys) at Chak kumar under Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2000 & Amended Act 2015, under the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Govt. of India and partnership of Govt. of West Bengal with capacity of 50 “Children in Conflict with Law” (CCLs).
Conflict with law children have committed offense, suspected for any criminal activities and apprehended by police personal due to complaint registered before any Police Station. After apprehension CCL must be Produced before the learned Magistrate Juvenile Justice Board / Children’s Court or any other Court for issued Admission Order to stay at Observation Home during enquiry process, interrogation and confess the guilty. If the complains will not be established against the CCL then the Case may be dispose off through acquittal and in case of complaints will established then the punishment for guilty may be imposed upon the CCL. For both cases Home Authority has extended correctional service for rectification and socialization as well as main streaming of CCL.
