CHILD LINE DISTRICT SUB CENTRE

CONCEPTCHILDLINE (1098) is a national 24 hour’s free emergency phone outreach service for children in need of Care & Protection. It is a project under Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS) of the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Govt. of India. At present in 84 cities and districts and service provided across the country

OBJECTIVES

  • To reach out to every child in need of care and protection by responding to emergencies on 1098.
  • To ensure access of technology to the most marginalized in urban as well as rural areas and connectivity of 1098 thr5ough telephone.
  • To work together with the Allied Systems to create Child friendly systems
  • To advocate for services for children that are inaccessible nonexistent or inadequate.

To strive for excellence in quality service to children in need of special care and protection and to ensure that the best interests of the child are secured

To provide a platform of networking amongst organizations and to provide linkages to support systems which facilitate the rehabilitation of children in need of care and protection.

TARGET AREAS

CHILDLINE works with marginalized children from various cities / districts. This includes working with

Child Labourers especially in the unorganized sector Children who have been abused

THE KEY STAKEHOLDERS OF CHILDLINE MODEL IN ASCHIM MEDINIPUR AREA

CHILDLINE Advisory Board (CAB) : Principal policy making body of CHILDLINE at the district level and is responsible for ensuring the effective functioning of CHILDLINE. The Board comprises of senior level functionaries from the allied systems, NGOs, Concerned individuals, Media etc. The District Magistrate, Paschim Medinipur is the Chairman of the Board.
